Anyone bank with Ziraat here?
Am trying to find out what Ziraat bank charges for receiving Sterling from UK, to a Sterling account with Ziraat bank here. I cannot find details on the website.
It's to transfer approx £4000 to someone doing work for me, I don't have an account with them. The recipient doesn't have a clue and asked me to check.
I do have other options, just trying to do it with the least charges and would like to compare.

Hi Alphamike - last time i asked Ziraat for fees to do a swift transfer back to UK they said between £150 - £250 per £25k ........... which is ridiculous
However if you are receiving money to a Ziraat, then i have received swift payments from UK with no charge ( deductions ) made by them .
But please double check with Ziraat just to confirm.

Why dont you use revolt or wise and transfer directly in TRY?
Their rates & transfer fees are much better

Thanks Stereotomy, they were amongst my other options, but Sterling is what is needed in this case.

Have you tried Turkbank. £30 to xfer £3k in sterling. Just a small amount for the extra £1k.
Money is xfrd via the Turkbank in London to the local branch.
Maybe worth your while and pocket to check with TRNC Turkbank.

Re: Anyone bank with Ziraat here?
Thanks Joe Soap for the info. Afraid that I don't have a UK Turkbank account, and I am in TRNC.
My Halifax bank charges me £9.50 to transfer money abroad, no matter the amount. I just didn't want the guy who's doing the work for me to incur charges at Ziraat.
I just took the bull by the horns today and transferred money via Western Union online at a cost of £4.90, and went down and picked it up at Iktisat bank in Karakum. The max you can send here in GBP is £4000 with Western Union, so it was worth it for that amount. Cheaper than frequent trips and charges at ATMs to take out Sterling.
I will get him to check at Ziraat himself to confirm there will be no charges at his end, as I will be using him for other jobs in the future. Or I will pop in myself next time I am passing a branch.
Thanks to all for input, much appreciated.

Try TEB bank I have used them in the past, more reasonable than some others. Also drawing GBP from their cash point with certain UK/Building society bank cards, no charge
